Untrapped Solutions was started from the love for the outdoors and traveling. Working in the ski industry for almost 15 years had taken me places I always dreamed of going. With the growing need for housing and the cost of living in many of these places, I could not afford to stay long term at any of the places I was traveling for work, specifically Mount Hood, Oregon. I knew right then and there if I was to be able to continue to enjoy these special places, I was going to need to make a change. I bought my first van back in 2016 and built it out so that I didn’t have to pay rent and could also be fully off the grid. I lived in the van full-time for almost a year until I saved up enough money to pay rent for a small house. Over the course of the year, the van had been getting lots of interest and people were genuinely excited about the idea. Once I had a house to live in, I had done some further work to the van and posted it for sale. Come to find out, it only took three days to sell! It was then that I realized that this could be a great business venture to start and something I could truly be proud of. While working in many different jobs all over the country in the ski industry and learning many different trades while doing so, I decided to compile them all into one venture, Van Building! It brings me great joy to be able to work with many different individuals on their vans. I hope that every van I build is able to allow people to experience the places and sites I did and more in their own way!
